Email Marketing for Travel and Hospitality

Published

Travel and hospitality teams send constantly — booking confirmations, seasonal promotions, loyalty program updates, destination newsletters, and post-stay follow-ups. These emails are visual by nature: hero shots of resorts, destination galleries, deal cards, and member-tier offers that have to look great on the phone a traveler is reading them on. Temway helps hotels, airlines, OTAs, tour operators, vacation rentals, and travel agencies build polished, image-heavy emails fast and export the final HTML into whatever ESP runs their campaigns.

The challenge

Travel and hospitality teams tend to run into three recurring problems:

  • Image-heavy emails that break on mobile — destination galleries, hero banners, and deal cards look right in the editor but collapse, shift, or crop badly on the phone where most travelers read them.
  • Seasonal campaign pressure — summer, the holidays, and spring break all hit at once, each with different packages, destinations, and offers, and the marketing team has to produce them concurrently without dropping the brand.
  • Brand drift across properties and regions — a hotel chain’s regional teams and individual property managers each build their own emails, so logos, colors, and typography slowly diverge between sends.

On top of that, the seasonal cycle is relentless. As one campaign ships, the next is already in production, and there’s rarely time to rebuild layouts from scratch.

How Temway helps

Visual builder for the whole team

The drag-and-drop builder lets anyone on your team assemble emails from configurable blocks — sections, columns, text, images, buttons, social links, video, dividers, and spacers — without writing code. For destination showcases, image blocks support grids of up to four columns with adjustable spacing and corner radius, so a destination gallery or a “deals of the week” strip comes together visually. Desktop and mobile views can be toggled inline so you catch responsive issues before you export.

Brand consistency via workspace branding

Each workspace holds a shared branding profile — colors, custom fonts, and logo — that every email inherits. Build your property or airline palette once, and your seasonal promo, loyalty newsletter, and booking confirmation all draw from the same visual source of truth. A chain with regional teams can give each of them templates that all pull from that profile, so the brand stays intact whether the email goes out from corporate or a single property. Custom fonts are available on every plan, including Free. See Branding for the full setup.

Reusable layouts

Build a destination-card grid or a branded header and footer once, then reuse it across seasonal campaigns. Layouts are lifetime totals per workspace — 100 on Free, unlimited on Starter, Pro, and Max — so your summer-sale template becomes the foundation for the winter-holidays template. A single update to the shared branding propagates across every email built from that layout. See Layouts for how to assemble and reuse them.

Version history

Every publish saves a versioned snapshot you can restore in one step. Caps per email are 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, and 100 on Pro and Max. That makes it safe to experiment with a bolder seasonal variant or a flash-sale layout — if it doesn’t perform, restoring the previous version puts you back where you were before the next send. See Version history for the full flow.

A typical campaign mix

Most travel and hospitality teams build a recurring set of emails that share branding and layouts:

  1. Booking confirmation and itinerary — reservation details, dates, property or flight info, and a clear “add to calendar” or “manage booking” call-to-action.
  2. Seasonal promo — a summer sale, holiday package, or spring-break offer with a hero destination image, deal grid, and urgency footer.
  3. Loyalty program newsletter — points balance, member-only offers, and tier-upgrade nudges. The loyalty tier upgrade template is built for exactly this moment — calm, premium, and personalized.
  4. Destination inspiration — a monthly travel guide with featured destinations, editorial picks, and a “book now” path.
  5. Post-stay review request — a warm follow-up after check-out inviting feedback and a return visit.

Each of these is built from the same branding and shared layouts, exported as HTML, and dropped into your ESP’s send or automation flow. Temway builds the email; your ESP handles the sends, the audience targeting, and the timing.

How it ships

Temway is a builder and exporter, not an ESP. The workflow is:

  1. Design the email in the visual builder.
  2. Export the rendered HTML, which is built to render consistently across Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail — important when your travelers are reading on their phones between flights.
  3. Paste the HTML into your ESP — Mailchimp, SendGrid, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Customer.io, Klaviyo, or whichever provider runs your travel campaigns and automations.

Before exporting, use in-app test sends to verify the email in a real inbox. Test sends are rate-limited per user on a rolling 24-hour window — 5 per day on Free, 20 on Starter, 50 on Pro, and 100 on Max. Anything that needs booking data, loyalty points, or itinerary personalization stays in your ESP; Temway is the design and export step. See Export and HTML for the export flow, or browse the templates gallery for a starting point.

Results

Teams that move travel email production into Temway typically see:

  • Faster seasonal turnaround — campaigns ship in minutes instead of waiting on a developer or a stretched design team.
  • Consistent brand across properties — every regional team’s email draws from one shared brand profile, no matter who built it.
  • Reliable mobile rendering — exported HTML holds up across Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail, even with image-heavy destination galleries.
  • Safer seasonal experiments — version history means a bold holiday variant is one click to undo.

Free-tier workspaces carry a “Designed with Temway” badge; upgrading to Starter ($19), Pro ($49), or Max ($299) removes the badge and unlocks higher volume caps across workspaces, emails, exports, and team members. See plans and pricing.
