Email Marketing for Fitness and Wellness

Published

Fitness and wellness teams — gyms, studios, wellness apps, personal trainers, and fitness brands — send constantly: class schedules, membership promos, motivational newsletters, challenge announcements, and re-engagement campaigns for lapsed members. Temway helps studio managers, marketing coordinators, and wellness entrepreneurs build high-energy, visual emails fast and export the final HTML into whatever ESP runs their campaigns.

The challenge

Fitness and wellness teams tend to run into three recurring problems:

  • High-energy layouts that break on mobile — fitness emails lean bold: hero photos, class-card grids, and challenge-progress badges. When they collapse or shift in Gmail or Outlook on a phone, the energy reads as broken instead of motivating.
  • Seasonal campaign pressure — New Year resolutions, summer-shred promos, back-to-school, and holiday survival each demand a fresh look, and the calendar never waits.
  • Win-backs that look recycled — lapsed members get re-engagement emails constantly, and a stale, repeated design tells them nothing has changed since they left.

On top of that, the member lifecycle is relentless. Sign-ups peak in January, attendance dips in the summer, and every quiet account is a win-back waiting to happen.

How Temway helps

Visual builder for the whole team

The drag-and-drop builder lets anyone on your team assemble emails from configurable blocks — sections, text, images, buttons, social links, video, dividers, and spacers — without writing code. Fitness emails are bold by nature, so the builder is tuned for high-energy palettes: punchy brand colors, large hero photos, and class-card layouts you can arrange side by side and resize visually. Desktop and mobile views can be toggled inline so you catch responsive issues before you export.

Brand consistency via workspace branding

Each workspace holds a shared branding profile — colors, custom fonts, and logo — that every email inherits. Build your studio palette once, and your class schedule, membership promo, and monthly newsletter all draw from the same visual source of truth, no matter who built them. Custom fonts are available on every plan, including Free. See Branding for the full setup.

Reusable layouts

Build a class-schedule grid or a challenge-progress layout once, then reuse it across campaigns. Layouts are lifetime totals per workspace — 100 on Free, unlimited on Starter, Pro, and Max — so each recurring template becomes a foundation for the next. See Layouts for how to assemble and reuse them.

Version history

Every publish saves a versioned snapshot you can restore in one step. Caps per email are 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, and 100 on Pro and Max. That makes it safe to experiment with a New Year hero, a bolder promo, or a refreshed win-back look — if it underperforms, restoring the previous version puts you back where you were before the next send. See Version history for the full flow.

A typical campaign mix

Most fitness and wellness teams build a recurring set of emails that share branding and layouts:

  1. Welcome and new-member onboarding — what to expect, how to book a first class, and a friendly first-timer tip.
  2. Monthly class schedule newsletter — the upcoming roster, featured instructors, and a clear booking call-to-action.
  3. Membership promo — a New Year, summer-challenge, or seasonal offer with a hero image, the deal, and an urgency footer.
  4. Motivational content — training tips, member success stories, and wellness guidance that keep your brand top of mind.
  5. Win-back and “we miss you” — a re-engagement nudge for lapsed members with a fresh reason to come back.

Each of these is built from the same branding and shared layouts, exported as HTML, and dropped into your ESP’s audience segment or automation flow. Temway builds the email; your ESP handles the sends, the targeting, and the timing. A ready-made starting point is the New Member Welcome template — fork it, swap in your studio brand, and your first member email is ready in minutes. For lapsed-member win-backs, the energetic Long Time No See template is a strong base.

How it ships

Temway is a builder and exporter, not an ESP. The workflow is:

  1. Design the email in the visual builder.
  2. Export the rendered HTML, which is built to render consistently across Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail.
  3. Paste the HTML into your ESP — Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ConvertKit, Constant Contact, SendGrid, Customer.io, or whichever provider runs your member lists and automations.

Before exporting, use in-app test sends to verify the email in a real inbox. Test sends are rate-limited per user on a rolling 24-hour window — 5 per day on Free, 20 on Starter, 50 on Pro, and 100 on Max. Anything that needs member-specific personalization, attendance history, or targeted segments stays in your ESP; Temway is the design and export step. See Export and HTML for the full export flow.

Results

Teams that move campaign production into Temway typically see:

  • Faster campaign turnaround — class schedules and promos ship in minutes instead of waiting on a developer.
  • Consistent brand — every campaign draws from one shared brand profile, no matter who built it.
  • Reliable mobile rendering — exported HTML holds up across Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail.
  • Safer seasonal experiments — version history means a bold New Year variant is one click to undo.

Free-tier workspaces carry a “Designed with Temway” badge; upgrading to Starter or above removes it and unlocks higher volume caps across workspaces, emails, exports, and team members. Compare plans at pricing, or browse the full gallery of starting points at templates.
