Email Marketing for Financial Services
Financial services teams send constantly — monthly statement notifications, regulatory and policy updates, market commentary, client onboarding, and product announcements. Temway helps marketing teams, compliance officers, and product managers build polished, compliance-conscious emails fast and export the final HTML into whatever ESP runs their communications. Temway is the design and export step; sending happens where your regulated data already lives.
The challenge
Financial services teams tend to run into three recurring problems:
- Brand drift across product lines — banking, lending, wealth management, and insurance each build their own emails, so the institution’s visual identity slowly diverges between sends.
- Broken layouts in Outlook — the dominant email client in corporate finance — so statement layouts and policy updates collapse or shift for exactly the readers they need to reach.
- Slow review cycles — every layout tweak or copy change becomes a developer ticket, dragging an already long compliance review out even further.
On top of that, every email sits under dual pressure — regulatory deadlines that can’t slip and a marketing calendar that won’t wait.
How Temway helps
Visual builder for the whole team
Temway’s drag-and-drop builder lets marketers, compliance officers, and product managers assemble emails from configurable blocks — sections, text, images, buttons, social links, dividers, and spacers — without writing code. Anyone on the team can open a draft, rearrange the layout, rewrite copy, and preview the result in real time. Desktop and mobile views can be toggled inline so you catch responsive issues before you export. Use in-app test sends to route a draft to a compliance officer or reviewer for a real-inbox check before anything ships.
Brand consistency via workspace branding
Each workspace holds a shared branding profile — institution colors, custom fonts, logo, and footer — that every email inherits. Build your brand palette once and your statement notifications, policy updates, and market commentary all draw from the same visual source of truth, whether the banking desk, the wealth team, or the insurance line built them. Custom fonts are available on every plan, including Free. See Branding for the full setup.
Reusable layouts
Build a regulatory-update template or a branded statement header and footer once, then reuse it across product lines. Layouts are lifetime totals per workspace — 100 on Free, unlimited on Starter, Pro, and Max — so each approved template becomes the foundation for the next regulatory cycle. See Layouts for how to assemble and reuse them.
Version history as a design-side audit trail
Every publish saves a versioned snapshot you can restore in one step — 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, and 100 on Pro and Max. For financial services this matters beyond experimentation: if a regulatory email ever needs to be reproduced for an audit, you can reopen the exact version that shipped and restore it without rebuilding. Version history becomes your design-side record of what went out and when. See Version history for the full flow.
A typical campaign mix
Most financial services teams build a recurring set of emails that share branding and layouts:
- Monthly statement notification — a clean, scannable summary telling clients their statement is ready, with a link into the account portal. No balances or account numbers live in the email itself — those merge in at send time from your regulated systems.
- Regulatory or policy update — a formal notice of a terms change, fee update, or compliance disclosure. A ready-made starting point is the Policy Update — Finance template — fork it, swap in your brand, and you have a reviewer-ready notice in minutes.
- Market commentary newsletter — a monthly or quarterly digest of the research team’s outlook, sent as polished editorial.
- Client onboarding welcome series — a sequence confirming account setup, introducing key features, and setting expectations for future communications.
- Product announcement — a new account type, rate change, or product launch, framed clearly for existing clients.
Each of these is built from the same branding and shared layouts, exported as HTML, and dropped into your ESP’s flow. Temway builds the email; your regulated sending infrastructure handles personalization, delivery, and any recipient-specific details.
How it ships
Temway is a builder and exporter, not an ESP — and it does not handle regulated financial data. The workflow is:
- Design the email in the visual builder using non-sensitive content only — build the template as if every recipient were identical, with placeholders wherever account numbers, balances, and personal details will go. Your ESP and backend systems merge in the real data at send time.
- Export the rendered HTML, built to render consistently across Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail — the clients your corporate and retail audiences actually open.
- Paste the HTML into your ESP or CRM — SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, Amazon SES, HubSpot, Customer.io, or whichever platform already runs your regulated communications.
Before exporting, use in-app test sends to verify the email in a real inbox and let a compliance officer or reviewer sign off. Test sends are rate-limited per user on a rolling 24-hour window — 5 per day on Free, 20 on Starter, 50 on Pro, and 100 on Max. Anything sensitive — account-specific merging, conditional content by segment, regulated disclosures — stays in your ESP, where the controls, logging, and safeguards already live. Temway fits inside your existing compliance posture rather than extending it. See Export and HTML for the export flow, and browse the integrations catalog for the ESPs you can push exports into directly.
Results
Financial services teams that move email production into Temway typically see:
- Faster review cycles — clean, on-brand templates mean fewer revision rounds before compliance signs off.
- Consistent brand across product lines — banking, wealth, lending, and insurance all draw from one shared brand profile, no matter who built the email.
- Reliable Outlook rendering — exported HTML holds up across the corporate clients your audiences actually use.
- Defensible version history — every shipped email is a snapshot you can reopen and restore for audits or reproductions.

Free-tier workspaces carry a “Designed with Temway” badge; upgrading to Starter or above removes it and unlocks higher volume caps across workspaces, emails, exports, and team members.
