Export to Your ESP

Overview

Temway builds and exports; your email service provider (ESP) delivers. This guide takes you from a finished email in Temway to a sent campaign in your ESP: finalize the design, run a test send, export the HTML, paste it into your provider, and hit send.

The exported HTML renders reliably in Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail, so what you preview is what your subscribers get.

Temway builds, your ESP sends

Temway is a builder and exporter — not an ESP. It produces clean, self-contained HTML. Delivery, audience management, and sending all happen in your ESP.

This split is intentional. You stay in control of deliverability and sender reputation using the ESP you already trust, while Temway focuses on producing email markup that renders correctly across clients.

Step 1 — Finalize your email

Before exporting, make sure the design is done:

  • Confirm every block has the content, links, and styling you want.
  • Preview on Desktop and Mobile viewports — multi-column layouts should stack into a single column on narrow screens. See the mobile-first design guide for tips.
  • Check that buttons, social links, and images point to the right destinations.

The exported HTML reflects the email exactly as it stands at export time, so finalize the design first to avoid rework.

Step 2 — Run a test send

Optional, but recommended. A test send delivers a preview of your email to your own inbox, so you can check how it looks in a real client before exporting.

Test sends are a preview tool — not production sending. They are limited per user on a rolling 24-hour window:

Free5
Starter20
Pro50
Max100

The quota is tracked per user (not per team) and resets as the 24-hour window rolls forward.

Step 3 — Export the HTML

  1. Open your finished email in the builder.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Copy the HTML to your clipboard, or download it as a file.

Temway turns your design into a single HTML document ready to paste — no extra files, stylesheets, or assets to track down.

Step 4 — Paste into your ESP

The exported HTML is standard email markup, so any provider with a “paste HTML” or “import custom HTML” option works. Here is how it looks in three common providers.

Mailchimp

  1. Start a new campaign and choose Code Your Own, or import the HTML file as a custom template.
  2. Paste the exported HTML into the code editor.
  3. Continue to the audience and schedule steps in Mailchimp.

SendGrid

  1. Open Marketing, then Designs, and create a new template — or start a new campaign.
  2. Switch to the Code Editor, or upload the HTML file as a custom template.
  3. Paste the exported HTML and save.

Other ESPs

The same pattern works in Klaviyo, Customer.io, Postmark, Amazon SES, and any provider that accepts custom HTML. Look for options named “paste HTML”, “import custom HTML”, “code editor”, or “custom template”.

Step 5 — Send or schedule

From your ESP:

  1. Pick the audience or recipient list.
  2. Set the subject line, sender name, and reply-to address.
  3. Send now, or schedule for later.

Sending, audience, automation, and deliverability all live in your ESP. Temway’s job ends at the exported HTML.

The “Designed with Temway” badge

Emails exported on the Free plan include a small “Designed with Temway” badge at the bottom. Upgrade to Starter, Pro, or Max to remove it from new exports. See billing and plans for plan details.

Tips

  • Re-export after edits. Saving changes in the builder does not update the HTML in your ESP. If you tweak the design after pasting, export again and replace the HTML in your campaign.
  • Keep audience and automation in your ESP. Temway does not manage subscribers, segments, or send schedules — those belong to your ESP.
  • Test send before every campaign. A quick inbox preview catches rendering surprises and broken links before your subscribers see them.
  • Publish to lock a version. Publishing snapshots the email so you can restore it later — handy if you iterate on a recurring newsletter. See version history.
