Billing and Plans

Temway has four plans — Free, Starter, Pro, and Max — billed monthly and managed through LemonSqueezy. This guide compares every plan, explains exactly how each limit is counted, and covers what happens when you upgrade, downgrade, or cancel.

How each limit is counted

Limits behave differently depending on the resource, so it’s worth knowing which counter applies where.

Emails and layouts are lifetime totals

The emails and layouts caps count every active email and layout your team has ever created — they are lifetime totals, not a monthly allowance. Soft-deleted items do not count against the cap, so removing an old email frees up space for a new one.

Exports are per billing month

The exports / month limit resets with your billing cycle. Each completed export is counted against the current billing period; once the period rolls over, your export allowance resets.

Test sends are per-user, rolling 24h

Test sends are counted per user on a rolling 24-hour window — not per team and not per month. Your daily allowance refreshes as each send ages out of the 24-hour window. Plan limits are derived from your team’s plan: Free 5/day, Starter 20/day, Pro 50/day, Max 100/day.

Storage is shared across all team workspaces

Storage is the total upload size across every workspace in your team. Uploads in any workspace count toward a single team-wide storage cap, so adding more workspaces doesn’t increase your storage — it just divides the same pool.

Version history is per email

Each email retains its own list of snapshots, capped by your plan (3 / 10 / 100 / 100). When a new publish would push you past the cap, the oldest versions are deleted automatically. See Version History for the full flow.

Upgrading

Upgrades take effect immediately. The higher plan’s limits apply right away, so you can create more workspaces, invite more members, or push past previous caps as soon as the upgrade completes. Billing is prorated through LemonSqueezy for the remainder of the cycle.

Downgrading

When you downgrade, Temway applies a downgrade guard: for each resource, the effective limit becomes whichever is higher — your new plan’s cap or your current usage. This means:

  • Billing follows the new tier immediately — you pay the lower price.
  • Product limits stay correct until your usage drops back below the new plan’s cap. You won’t lose access to existing emails, workspaces, or members mid-flight.
  • As you delete unused emails, remove members, or free up storage, the caps tighten toward the new plan’s limits.

Once your usage drops below the new cap everywhere, the new plan is fully in effect.

Canceling

You can cancel anytime from your billing settings. Cancellation stops the auto-renew at the end of your current billing period — you keep paid features through the period you’ve already paid for, then the team reverts to the Free plan.

Billing and payments

Billing is handled by LemonSqueezy, our payment provider. Plans auto-renew monthly until canceled or changed. You can manage your subscription, update payment methods, and download invoices through the billing portal linked from your team settings.
