Nonprofit Campaigns and Fundraising Appeals
Email is where nonprofits reach supporters — for year-end fundraising drives, event invitations, impact updates, and volunteer calls. Most of that work falls on small teams with limited budget and rarely a designer on staff. Temway gives them a visual builder that anyone on the team can use to produce trustworthy, polished emails that drive donations and attendance without engineering help.
The challenge
Nonprofit communications tend to break down in three places:
- No design or developer resources — appeals either look amateur or get reused from the same stale template until supporters stop opening them.
- Brand and donor-trust consistency — appeals and updates are written by different staff and volunteers taking turns, so fonts, colors, and logos slowly drift between sends.
- Unreliable mobile rendering — most supporters read email on their phones, and an appeal that breaks on mobile loses the donation or the RSVP.
How Temway helps
A visual builder anyone on staff can use
Temway’s drag-and-drop builder lets a fundraiser or comms staffer assemble an appeal from configurable blocks — sections, columns, text, images, buttons, social links, video, dividers, and spacers — without writing code. Image grids support up to four columns with adjustable spacing and corner radius, so photo highlights from a recent project or event look intentional rather than patched together. Clear call-to-action buttons make the Donate or RSVP path obvious on every device.
Brand consistency via workspace branding
Each workspace holds a shared branding profile — colors, custom fonts, and logo — that every appeal and update in that workspace inherits. A new staff member or volunteer opening a draft starts from your organization’s colors and fonts, not a blank canvas. Custom fonts are available on every plan, including Free, so even a budget-constrained org can send emails that look like they came from one trusted organization.
Reusable layouts for every campaign type
Build a standard appeal skeleton or an event-invite layout once, then reuse it for each drive. Shared branding carries through automatically, so a recurring monthly update or a year-end appeal starts from a trusted starting point instead of being rebuilt. Layouts are workspace-scoped and capped by plan: 5 on Free, unlimited on Starter, Pro, and Max.
Version history for safe iteration
Every publish saves a versioned copy of the email — content and rendered HTML together — capped at 3 per email on Free, 10 on Starter, 100 on Pro, and 100 on Max. If a bold year-end appeal variant underperforms, or a layout change doesn’t land with supporters, you can restore a previous version in one step. Restoring resets the email to draft so you re-publish before sending.
A genuinely usable Free plan
Free workspaces get the full builder and custom fonts — the only visible difference from paid plans is a small “Designed with Temway” badge on exported emails. For a budget-constrained nonprofit, that means professional-looking appeals on day one without a credit card. The badge is removed on Starter and above.
A typical campaign mix
Over a quarter, a small nonprofit team might ship four kinds of emails, all built from the same shared branding and layouts:
- Year-end fundraising appeal — the headline drive of the year, with a strong Donate call to action and impact photos in an image grid.
- Recurring monthly update — a short supporter newsletter with a recent story, a meaningful stat, and a soft ask.
- Event invite and reminder — a gala, fun run, or volunteer day, with an RSVP button and a follow-up reminder closer to the date.
- Volunteer call — a targeted ask for help at an upcoming event or program, with a clear sign-up path.
Each one is designed in the builder, exported as HTML, and dropped into the ESP that already holds the supporter list.
How it ships
Temway is a builder and exporter, not an email service provider. The workflow is:
- Design the appeal or update in the visual builder.
- Export the rendered HTML, built to render consistently across Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail — including the mobile clients most supporters actually read on.
- Paste the HTML into your ESP — Mailchimp, SendGrid, Customer.io, Postmark, Amazon SES, or Klaviyo — wherever your supporter list already lives.
Your supporter list, donation tracking, and audience segments all stay in your ESP or CRM. Temway builds and exports the message; your existing tools handle delivery, donations, and reporting.
Results
Nonprofits that move email production into Temway typically see:
- Professional appeals without a designer — drag-and-drop blocks and image grids let any staff member or volunteer produce polished emails.
- Consistent, trusted branding — every appeal and update inherits the same colors, fonts, and logo, no matter who is sending.
- Reliable mobile rendering — exports are built to hold up on the phones where supporters actually read.
- Low-cost entry — the Free plan includes the full builder and custom fonts, so budget-constrained orgs can start immediately.
Free-tier workspaces carry a “Designed with Temway” badge; Starter and above remove it and raise volume caps across workspaces, team members, layouts, and version history. Custom fonts and the full builder are available on every plan.
